Check Out Deejay Lowery’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deejay Lowery.

Hi Deejay, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My mom said I sang before I could speak. I grew up in church where my mother was a worship leader and my father was a minister. I sang my first solo at 7 for the Christmas program at my church and from then on its been none stop. I’ve sang bgvs for a host of gospel artist, and I’ve written for a few as well, In 2019 I wrote on a grammy nominated album tunnel vision by gene Moore. I signed to vegan bae music group as an artist in 2020 and have been working on my own solo project. I have new music coming really soon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I lost my mom to cancer in February of 2017. The most difficult part has been not having her here to see me doing what I’ve dreamed of ever since I was a kid.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer/songwriter who serves and leads worship at his church. If I had to ask someone what I’m known for I believe they’d say my tone. I’ve gotten compliments on my tone for years. It’s been described as warm, yet smooth, and full. Recently someone compared it to gelato, lol.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My situation has been a bit different. Fortunately for me I’ve been invited in spaces that have afforded me really dope opportunities. But I’d say shoot your shot, you never know who’s looking for what you have to offer. If you have someone who’s in close proximity doing what you desire to do reach out to them and get connected.
