Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started nursing school right after High-school and realized that it wasn’t something I actually wanted to go to school for. So I took a long break and looked into schools with my sister. And enrolled in esthetician school in July of 2021 and graduated in December 2021 and I started my business “Serenesthetics”doing facials and body waxing while I was in school. I struggled with acne myself in middle school and I still have challenges with my skin today and I feel as an esthetician it’s important to be able to relate to your clients. I wanted to be able to make others feel beautiful in their own skin and also educating them as well. I love what I do and I love seeing different faces everyday.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely wasn’t easy for me as far as procrastinating about going to school to be an esthetician. Because you always hear “oh estheticians don’t make as much money” or “what is an esthetician” but it was something I wanted to do and i was passionate about it so I went to school faithfully & graduated early from my program. With the loss of my grandmother the last month of school was definitely difficult for me. As far as starting my business? Promoting and getting those clients in has been a bit of a struggle for me but Serenesthetics is definitely getting somewhere and I’m definitely grateful!
