Check Out Nettie Lewis’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nettie Lewis.

Hi Nettie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2019, I left the criminal justice field and promoted into a position supporting C-Suite executives. I was enjoying navigating professional responsibilities around movers and shakers. To add the cherry on top of it all, I was making the most money I’ve ever made in my career. I felt life was sweet. The company loved me and was excited about my contributions and growth.

Then, out of nowhere, the platform I thought was leading me to new heights and greater depths was snatched from underneath. With the pandemic came a swift elimination of my position and a large part of my hope for a better future. I had no clue what it was like to involuntarily be unemployed. I felt rejected, invaluable, and stuck.

This transition, while uncomfortable, sparked an energy within me that caused me to reevaluate my surroundings. After having a mini pity party, I got to work! I began finding projects around my house to revamp, redesign, and renovate.

What began as my exciting projects led to my family’s projects, which grew to projects in my community. My administrative and solutions oriented skills matched with my father’s handyman skills created an amazing daddy-daughter-duo!

Before long, the word was starting to spread about our services, and I knew then it was time to make things official. So, we became LLC’d, built a website, and began taking clients. What my father and I could not handle on our own, we developed a team that specializes in all things renovations and remodeling. Our journey is still in effect. Though cumbersome at times, we’re learning every day that the work is WORTH IT!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to entrepreneurship is NEVER smooth. However, I’ve learned that the best journey is the one that requires you to travail through hills AND valleys.

Something I’ve learned is that the work we do is about relationships. When I took the time to build relationship with my team (outside of their craft), and truly got to know who they are as a person helped me understand value systems.

I found it was easier for me to see what people were worth keeping on the team based off of what values they held near to them. Those team members that did not show a desire to steward well products and responsibility to deliver quality services had to be removed.

While difficult, decisions like this made projects run efficiently and kept clients happy.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We handle all things remodel and renovation. We specialize in residential projects, but are working towards more commercial projects. We are known for projects involving handyman work, redesigning and revamping household spaces and outdoor spaces. From giving the master bathroom a facelift to creating a backyard oasis with a patio and outdoor kitchen, we handle projects that are major, minor, and everything in between!

We are most proud of our ability to provide suggestions to creating a beautiful finished product when given a blank canvas by one of our clients!

We are set apart by our flexibility and the way we work with clients’ budgets to get them the renovation or remodel of their dreams!

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
