Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaedi Bowers. Them and their team share their story with us below:
My passion for fitness started from my involvement in playing basketball throughout elementary, middle, and high school. I was born and raised in the Sunshine State of Florida, in West Palm Beach. I grew up in a loving, compassionate family. My parents owned a non-profit homeless shelter and summer camp, and I watched them serve our community tirelessly. So from a young age, I cultivated a love for servant leadership. By the time I attended college at Clark Atlanta University, I was aware many of my family members had a poor health history. My dad was a dialysis patient due to diabetes, and my mom struggled with her health. I was inspired to break cycles in my family, so I made wellness coaching a lifelong mission to empower women and youth to live a meaningful life and have freedom in the body, soul, and spirit by finding joy in wellness.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been an easy path overall, actually, I dealt with a lot of shame because my family experienced poverty. Also, I began to struggle with mental health due to childhood trauma. Since I had adverse childhood experiences at an early age my health began to take a toll. However, I was blessed to have mentors along my journey. It took building my faith in God, ongoing healing, and courage to take control of my future to overcome those barriers. Through the hard times, I’ve learned to grow and become a fitness inspiration, teacher, leader, and the ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Kaedi Fitness is an online fitness business that I started in college. I helped young women make fitness fun and reach their physical health goals.
Kaedi Fitness is distinguished from other fitness brands because I have had the unique experience of working in gyms as a personal trainer and as an educator in the classroom for middle school students. Both professions have afforded me a wealth of knowledge and wisdom about the wellness struggles students, staff, and communities face. I’m an expert in trauma-informed teaching, Social Emotional Learning development, and wellness coaching that addresses root problems and overcomes hidden barriers.
I want readers to know that this is just the beginning of a lifelong commitment to advocating for my wellness and those around me. Kaedi Fitness will continue to evolve by partnering with schools, non-profits, churches, communities, and women and youth globally. I believe we can experience the fullness of Christ and live a meaningful life by having total health.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I value my faith and depend solely on the provision from Jesus for my life and business. Luck hasn’t taken up space here, but partnering with God, staying in His grace, working consistently, investing in myself, and being surrounded by the community have led to many big and small wins that I constantly reflect on with gratitude. My perspective on bad luck is that every challenge I face may seem bad, but I know that there’s a process I have to go through, a lesson needed, personal development, and even heart transformation. All things are working out for my good, so struggles are temporary, and the joy comes afterward.
