Today we’d like to introduce you to Emanuel Jay.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
All my life, I’ve been connected to music and musicians. I started singing in church at the age of 6.
In 2018, I auditioned and was accepted into the Motown & More Revue at The Miller Outdoor Theater in Houston TX. This huge experience of singing to 20, 000 to 50,000 people 4 nights in a row really opened my eyes to a lot and it’s like when I hit that stage, everything I had been through in life all of a sudden made sense.
My EP will be dropping this Spring and it’s the beginning of a new beginning for me. I wrote and sang all the songs and they were centered around personal relationship trauma, abuse and healing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was far from smooth. I’ve lost a lot to be here.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a singer. I write songs & perform. I’m most known for my performances. I am most proud of the ability to always find the courage to recreate myself as an artist. I believe what sets me apart from others is my uniqueness and I think that’s something we all can attest to.
