Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Mcghee.

Hi Michael, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Started cooking at the age of 18. Moved to Atlanta for 12 years where I mastered my craft. I started performing cooking demos around the city and flew back to VA twice a summer to teach a class at my old high school. Moved back to Virginia during the pandemic and started Greenlights kitchen. Where I would do private events

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The pandemic was rough. With no work, I would sell plates on the weekends because it took a while before I could get unemployment.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve been a chef for that last 20-something years. I take pride in teaching the art of cooking in preparing food.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Reaching goals and overcoming rough times.
