Today we’d like to introduce you to Kahlil Martin.
Hi Kahlil, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started at Oklahoma State University. This is where I went from Mechanical Engineer to Multi-Media Specialist. Being involved early in organizations I realized I had a natural skill to brand an organization and create the look we envisioned. Leading many organizations my project management and leadership refined my big picture vision. I quickly realized my true DESIRE was in all things creative.
Fast forward to junior year, I created my first business Koncepts by Kahlil. I took my services of graphic design and branding to the world. I spent time working with various organizations creating flyers and t-shirt designs. Then, I started creating merchandise for sale on e-commerce platforms. Koncepts taught me how to run a successful organization, create professional work, brand a business, manage clients, and stay committed to a goal. I shipped products all over the world and made thousands of dollars I used to fund my college experience. My DESIRE to create the next best thing pushed me to make new designs daily.
After completing my degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology I started my career managing estimates for multi-million dollar oil and gas projects. As a lead estimator, I honed my project management capabilities and grew insight on how to run bigger organizations.
Quickly I realized I had a thirst for more knowledge. I started my Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Project Management and Marketing from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I continued to work full time and attended school full time. Juggling responsibilities seemed like second nature. I decided to take full control of my abilities with marketing and merge them with my eye for creation, thus Kreate Productions was born.
My main skills include Photography, Videography, and Graphic Design. These skills come second nature to me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle has been moving to Houston at the very start of the pandemic. Venturing into a new city only knowing a handful of people during a time with limited human interactions hindered the growth of my business initially. Letting the work speak for itself and using social media allowed my business to grow during times when it was hard to promote in person.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The power of belief in yourself is the first part. You can achieve anything is you just believe it can happen, rather is be far fetched or an easy goal the only limits in life you have is yourself.
The biggest advice I have is to “just start”. The truth is we are more powerful than we even realize, everything we have is everything we need. Today is the age where you can make movies on an iPhone and create amazing art using recycled items. Getting started may seem like the hard part but a step in the right direction is still a step.
Lean heavy on those around you. Build a mastermind group of individuals you can look to for advice or just build and create ideas with. Together you can move mountains.
