Meet Anabel Barron and Jordan Strouse of SWEAT 1000

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anabel Barron and Jordan Strouse.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Anabel and Jordan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My husband and I lived in Cape Town, South Africa as part of his international assignment. While there, we discovered a life-changing fitness concept. Six months after we discovered SWEAT 1000, my husband received a call that he was being moved back to Houston. We had planned for 2 more years in Cape Town and decided to see if the founders of SWEAT 1000 (Andrew & Paul Rothschild) would be interested in working with us to bring their brand to the United States — and more specifically, to Texas! After searching high and low for the right space, we found a great opportunity in the Heights to bring this life-changing brand to the city of Houston. We could not be more excited to share our experience and passion for what we have in store!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth? Have you ever seen the photo of the stick figure on a bike with a short straight line to the finish line with the caption “Your plan” and next to it is the same stick figure on a bike with a cliff, a ladder, a lake and a tightrope before the finish line with the caption “Reality”?

Definitely some obstacles in introducing a brand to a new country for the first time, but the excitement will always outweigh the frustration.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with SWEAT 1000 – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
SWEAT 1000 is a high-intensity interval training workout that combines cardio, strength and functional training with a 1 hour high paced class fueled by beats and world-class fitness programming.

The founders, Andrew & Paul Rothschild, have created a program that is virtually unrivaled. It is challenging and yet truly achievable for anyone at any fitness level. My husband and I are so proud to open the first studio for this amazing program outside of South Africa and in the United States.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The big plans are pretty straightforward. Get open and provide a great workout, a great atmosphere, and a great experience. It will take some great effort and great customer service — but we think that may be a little easier than the road behind us.

Eventually, we would plan to open more SWEAT 1000 studios in Houston, in Texas and expand to other markets.
