Today we’d like to introduce you to Donato Farina.
Hi Donato, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am the second generation of a family of Italian immigrants, who arrived in Venezuela after the Second World War. My family in Venezuela owned an asphalt plant and road construction. After getting married, I became independent from the family business and with my cousin, we created a trucking company to transport construction material. Years later I had to emigrate with my family to the United States. In 2013 I started making some investments in Houston with a cousin of my wife. We bought land and a house for flipping. In 2015 we came to the United States with an Investor visa and to date, we are grateful to this city that has given us a second home. The first time I visited Houston was in 2006 and I was impressed by the city. Today we work in remodeling and construction with the same company that started flipping house projects “Major Farina Investments” I started this company with a partner and in 2018 I became 100% mine. We do remodeling projects from the smallest to the largest. I was never afraid to start over, of course, it was a new country, a new city, another language, and new clients who have gradually grown and already recommend my work to their group of friends. We are dedicated to the remodeling and addition or expansion of houses, from the foundation to the smallest details such as custom carpentry for bathroom cabinets, kitchens, study, and closets, we have a line of grills that we call Argentine Grill, it is oriented in the outdoor kitchens with grills made to suit each client. Our success is based on: 1. Serving customers personally. 2. The client does not have to worry about anything, we can do everything without having to involve anyone else in the project, and we take care of the design, permits, and construction. We provide a complete service.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a challenging road going through the language, new regulations, and building codes, different business and marketing systems.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We specialize in residential remodeling and additions, we work with investors in flipping houses, and we stand out for the attention and final detail in the projects. As a company, we guarantee direct dealings with the owner of the property always. We have a work team from design to final remodeling. We like to take challenges and innovate in each project. No job is like the other. We like that each client has a unique remodeling.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Everything, its culture, its people, its food, the love for Texas, and the pride of belonging to this city. It is important to love where you live. What I don’t like…I guess I’m not the only one to say crazy texas weather, hahaha!
