Today we’d like to introduce you to Tomeka Richard.
Hi Tomeka, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I worked in the Oil & Gas field since graduating from school but I always knew that I had much more to offer and I wanted to be my own boss and create a life that I love. I have always been a lover of fashion! I started an online clothing boutique back in 2013. I lost my mother to cancer in 2014 and that honestly slowed down everything that I had going on in my life period. I just didn’t have the same focus or drive to continue things that I was once focused on. I have worked out most of my life, however, when I lost my mother, I completely stopped working out as well and just sat in my grief and pain that felt unbearable. I honestly felt like that loss and deep hurtful feeling would never go away. My mother was an amazing woman and a true believer. She loved everyone and I couldn’t understand how and/or why that could happen to her, I was lost.
Over the course of a year and a half or so, I had gained much weight, I was almost 200 pounds. I then made a decision that I had to save myself and live a healthy and beautiful life for myself and my sons. I then made the decision to faithfully commit to getting into the gym to train, get my dream body, and start eating more healthily. I have been committed and working out 5 days a week since 2017. I have learned so much regarding working out and just living a healthier lifestyle and it has really helped with my mind, body, and soul. It is much more to living a healthier life than just looking good. Since I am a fashion lover, I would always purchase so much workout attire from Nike and other fitness brands. I would get so many compliments on my workout attire and physique. I then realized that I am spending so much money on different workout brands and I literally almost wore workout clothes daily, and still do, so I decided to start working on my own fitness brand. I always felt like when you look good, you feel good, so why not look good while working out.
I then created Fit Geek, which is my fitness brand. I also started my boutique back up that I had originally started in 2013 and revamped it and changed the name to Haus of Cree’Le. Haus of Cree’Le is the boutique side that carries more of your everyday clothing and Fit Geek only caters to all things fitness! I have gotten great reviews on my Fit Geek brand thus far and I am excited about what’s to come. I plan to make Fit Geek a world-renowned brand that not only offers fitness attire, but also workout equipment, and natural/vegan supplements as well. Also, I am now 32 weeks pregnant and still working out hard in the gym, so I have decided to create pregnancy workout plans for expecting mothers as well. I am feeling my best and I want to inspire and help other women with working out and living a healthier lifestyle.
Life is filled with so many ups and downs and obstacles that may try to get in your way, but I have truly learned and still learning that you have to push through and be determined to conquer it all, no matter what. Whatever you may be going through, you have to live through it and grow through it! Once you conquer and learn, you will see life more beautiful. Healing inside and out is key! I am still on my healing journey. All of my hard times have brought me even closer to God and the things that mean the most to me. I am so excited for my future and can’t wait for the world to know all about Fit Geek and what all we have to offer. Always remember, “Dress like a beauty and Train like a beast!”
Stay Tuned!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No.
There have been many obstacles, just as there are with growing any business. I have had to go through a number of vendors and manufacturers before finding the perfect one for my brand. I have had to invest a lot of money on inventory, in between losing and/or leaving jobs and etc. I want the Fit Geek brand to stand out so I am constantly working on having the perfect material, quality, and fit. Also, in between, there have been life obstacles that I have had to withstand during the process as well. However, I will continue to conquer it all.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Fit Geek is a fitness brand that caters to workout attire and all things fitness. Fit Geek offers the best fitness attire for women. Our Fit Geek Men line is coming soon as well! What sets us apart is the quality of my brand, attention to detail, customer service, and how I strive to make Fit Geek better! Fit Geek offers fitness attire that hugs the body and has eminent material quality. We also will soon offer natural/vegan supplements such as protein powder and meal replacements, as well as workout programs, special pregnancy workout programs, etc. Another goal of mine for Fit Geek is to open up a gym and create an entire vibe that people will absolutely love being in! FitGeek’s goal is to inspire and help people all over the world with their fitness goals and overall living a healthier lifestyle, no matter what level of fitness you are on.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My Mother!!! My favorite childhood memories all consist of my mother! How beautiful she was inside and out, her home-cooked meals daily when I got home from school and on Sundays, how she prayed every day throughout the day, how she cared for me and everyone else for that matter, and how she always found the good in people, how strong she was, how she nurtured me, how she kept me and my siblings in church and her overall truly Unconditional Love!
