Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia McCullough.
Hi Felicia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story began 13 years ago after graduating from college with a Degree in Nursing. I have a passion for helping people in need and Nursing was the perfect fit for that passion. I have spent those 13 years building my skills in acute care, preventative medicine, quality/managed care, hospice, as well as beauty and cosmetics.
In the process of taking care of the public, I constantly received compliments on my skin. Quite often patients and their family members would make requests for my regimens and processes for maintaining my skin. I would share my routines and hope that it brought them the same joy it brought me. I love making people smile and feel their best. It is well known that how you look on the outside is often a reflection of how one feels on the inside and with that thought, Body Obsession Houston was born! I like to say that Beauty chose me and with my years of experience in healthcare this seemed like the perfect opportunity for me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting anything worthwhile is always met with challenges. Body Obsession Houston was no exception. I was working full time and raising a family. Time is something I didn’t have a lot of so I would be up late nights researching and putting my plan together. Researching the regulations and laws around this type of business was painstaking and there are definitely some things one would need to be aware of.
However, my main challenge is marketing! There is so much to know and think about. For someone who has never had to do it, it is debilitating. However, I started reading, researching, and watching YouTube videos which really helped me get a better understanding of it. I still hired someone who specializes in marketing to free up time to do other things necessary to keep business flowing. Beyond that I am networking and building a system that will allow my business to thrive.
As you know, we’re big fans of Body Obsession Houston. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m a Registered Nurse and a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist. Body Obsession Houston is a Luxury Medspa with a cosmetic and wellness focus.What sets us apart is our focus on overall wellness. For us it is wellness then beauty. We believe that if you are well then your natural beauty shines through and we simply enhance that based on our conversations with the client. We listen because we know how important this decision is to our clients.
Let’s use hydration as an example. Alone it is a simple enough concept right? We drink so therefore we are hydrated. Based on our experience at Body Obsession Houston, we know that most people are not taking in the proper amounts of hydration and that affects the whole body both in and out. Let’s face it, in Houston we work hard and we play hard and sometimes that play lends itself to body dehydration. Houston heat and humidity also play a role in the moisture content of our skin. We would recommend hydration therapy in this situation. As I stated earlier if you feel good you look good and that’s what Body Obsession Houston aspires to do.

Knowing that we have made a positive impact on someone’s life is what matters to me and the staff at Body Obsessions Houston. We want our clients to be happy with the life they live. If they are happy about how they look and feel, we can continue to do the things that we are most passionate about; helping people live a more healthy and productive life, all the while looking damn good as doing it!
