Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Clark.
Hi Tori, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! So I don’t really remember the exact moment the lightbulb went off and I decided to become an influencer… BUT I’ve always been extroverted, super bubbly, and social with high energy to spread positivity. I have always loved Instagram and the thought of making others’ days better and sharing my light, whether that is by fashion, stories, my blog, etc. I have a super fun and loving family who always keeps my Instagram stories lively along with my crazy awesome (and handsome) husband whom I just married on March 26, 2022! It makes me SO happy when people engage with me through Instagram or even my blog – ask anyone who knows me, I LOVE making new friends! I graduated from Lamar University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, and I currently work full-time as a marketing-events coordinator for a construction/engineering company but am always on the gram and being creative with every opportunity that comes up. By being consistent, having fun, traveling, shopping, and just focusing on a positive and healthy lifestyle, I’ve grown to KNOW without a doubt that this is what I love to do. It is my favorite hobby by far! I’m hoping to really increase my following, the amount of brands I collaborate with along with engaging more with my followers. While life isn’t ALWAYS sunshine and rainbows, it’s good to acknowledge the hardships and be authentic, and to always strive to find the GOOD. I’m super excited to see where the next 5 years lead me!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being an influencer.. sharing your authentic self on Instagram is not “easy” by any means… there are days when you want to stay in your PJs or no makeup the entire day and you probably don’t look your best, or say you get sick and don’t want to share yourself on social media for everyone to see…. but you also know that in order to grow and get where you want to be, you must remain consistent and active.
I have always told myself that I will remain authentic, honest and true no matter where the road leads me. I will always believe that it is OK to take a ‘day off’ from Instagram, sometimes even a week off if needed. I share on my profile a lot about how important self-care is to me and if I’m not taking care of myself, how am I supposed to tell others to do the same? Just one example…
Sometimes, as an influencer, there seems to be a pressure that is associated with it. You feel like you HAVE to be a certain way to get followers… or that you have to meet certain requirements to get recognized by brands… but I remind myself why I’m doing it, why I love it SO much… and remind myself that I do it for FUN and for my friends! I love sharing all my shopping finds and the sales that I shop for. I love sharing the things Zach and I whip up in the kitchen for a delicious meal! I love sharing my weekend activities and trips we go on! I think this is an important reminder that can be used for many things in our lives…. when you are down and struggling… no matter what it is about.. pause and reflect and remind yourself of why you are doing it and try to think about the positive things that will come from this or something that brings you JOY!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Professionally, I work for an engineering/construction company in Houston working with their marketing/events team.
However, a lot of my ‘personal’ work is behind the phone on my social media – Instagram – account through my feed and stories by sharing my life, my favorite finds and steals, along with just my overall positivity. I link my clothes and products I use on the liketoknow.it app where I earn commission by others shopping my links. I also have a new website where you can find my blogs that I have written along with my links and my positivity. 🙂
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My husband is my number one hype man! He helps me with SO much behind the scenes… he has the best sense of humor and is always keeping me laughing. He is helpful and understanding when I am stuck behind my phone trying to make sure a story gets posted or that I finish editing my blog to stay on track with my content planner. He offers to help and is my personal photographer lol. I think sometimes he wants to be an influencer too… HAHA!
My family always loves bragging to other relatives and friends about my blog, which makes me smile haha. They are probably the reason behind all my views on each blog post lol. They honestly give me so much meaty content by serving up drinks by the pool and dancing and back porch karaoke nights, taking us out somewhere new/fun on a Saturday night, or just entertaining us with their randomness and good vibes!
My friends are also always rooting for me and especially my other influencer friends who help me get closer to reaching my goals!
