Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Zigler.
Hi Ana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ana Zigler and I was born in Germany through my dad being in the military and raised in the small town of Copperas Cove, Texas. My passion for the fitness world started when I found powerlifting in high school and won state my senior year. After graduating high school in June 2006, I got my first job ever as a front desk team member with Gold’s Gym. My passion for powerlifting evolved through traveling and representing Team USA in different countries. All the while I was working at Gold’s Gym, my passion for powerlifting continued and I had the opportunity to travel and represent Team USA in different countries but simultaneously, I continued gaining knowledge in the fitness industry, From there, and I knew I wanted to grow with this iconic brand. My next stop was earning I went to study and got an undergrad degree at Texas A&M University and followed it with Master’s in Business Management & Leadership from Texas A&M-Central Texas. During this time, Gold’s Gym worked with me every step of the way and helped me in transferring to all my eight different locations and positions while letting me support my evolution as a person whose passion was fitness. Currently, I have been with the company for 16 years this month and have served in almost every role played a role within the gym ranging in all positions. The different roles I have played within the company range from Front Desk, Personal Trainer, Fitness Manager, Assistant General Manager, to currently General Manager. I feel so lucky that I get to wake up every day and change lives through fitness with an incredibly iconic brand to help me evolve professionally. Gold’s Gym is bringing the legacy of fitness to Houston, Texas and I’m ecstatic to play a part in it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As the fitness industry is in a constant state of evolution, challenges present themselves regularly. Although each challenge is a setback, those difficult situations have helped me grow individually and professionally within the company. As with many businesses, I would say the pandemic upended our industry but I believe it also provided a special opportunity. I say special because while many of the companies in the fitness landscape scrambled, it gave Gold’s Gym a great opportunity to refresh and grow with the new ownership under RSG Group.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Gold’s Gym, I am a Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) General Manager and Personal Trainer. Gold’s Gym set the template for modern bodybuilding with 50 + years of experience and I have personally been a part of that legacy for 16 years. I am a leader who motivates those who are passionate about fitness and I love watching them grow within our walls. Gold’s Gyms are unlike any other fitness entity and I’m looking forward to sharing our new look with Houston. Sporting with best-in-class equipment from German weight machine manufacturer gGym-80, interiors infused with the vibe from our original location in Venice Beach, California where pros themselves like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno became legends and simple, no-commitment month-to-month pricing, I have no doubt it will motivate members to achieve their toughest workouts. My favorite thing about Gold’s gym coming into town is the modern and sustainable look to our locations. As Joe Gold said, ” The best athletes deserve the best place to train.” Houston, get ready because Gold’s Gym is back and we’re bringing our iconic, bold and strong heritage
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My parents and sister deserve a lot of the credit for my evolution within the company. They pushed me to become a better version of myself every year I have been with Gold’s Gym. They taught me loyalty is a vital trait and growth is integral to becoming the best version of yourself. Like the Gold’s Gym brand, I am also evolving day after day and year after year. Our journeys in many ways are synonymous, and like the legends who built Gold’s Gym, I am thankful for the mentors who have helped me to where I am today.
