Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Fitzgerald.
Hi Mark, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I first started out as a musician at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church. I learned the drums first and then started taking piano lessons by the 5th grade. Around my 5th grade year, I also started learning how to make beats. I made music with other people in 2015 but never released a song. I wanted to take my music seriously and put it out so I released my first song in 2017 called “Waiting Patiently” under the artist name Treal Forte. After a couple of years of making music under the name, I wanted to rebrand myself. Treal Forte was about proving a point and showing versatility. In 2021, during the finale of a showcase, I announced that I would no longer be acknowledged as Treal Forte and be known as TrealX. For the first song, I released an updated version of a song under TrealX called “Waiting For You.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had to do a lot of development as an artist. I went through artist boot camp at Leading Legacy Studio which is my studio. I was dedicated to becoming a better performance artist. I went through weeks of boot camp before I performed at my next event. The boot camp made a huge difference in my performance.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a musician, producer, and hip-hop artist. I specialize in arranging music and I am known for being a smooth musician and a conceptual artist. I am proud of the fact that as an artist I have continued to study and develop my artistry. My voice sets me apart from a lot of artists. My voice is what grabs the ears of the listeners and makes them pay attention to what I have to say versus them just listening to the beat.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The music industry in the next five to ten years will change drastically. The sound of the music industry over the past ten years has already evolved. A big shift will happen with new technology like NFTs and the Blockchain which will give independent artists more ownership and control over their music.
