Hidden Gems: Meet Ashley Alexander of Ashley A Team | Nextgen Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Alexander.

Ashley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Straight out of high school I got into a receptionist position at a mortgage company, and 5 months into it I moved up the ladder and started understanding/learning about qualifying buyers for home loans. I was a loan officer assistant, and a loan processor in my mortgage life and stayed in this field for 5 years. In 2017, I decided that as much as I loved working in the mortgage field, I really wanted something different, something that didn’t keep me at a desk 24/7 so I chose to master the Real Estate industry and became a Realtor. My background in mortgage financing really helped my career especially because I loved both so very much. I have been a top producer for 2 years and it’s going to be 3 this year.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say that it’s been a smooth road, with anyone starting their own business we all go through those tough times. I believe that the vamping up part of your business is literally planting as many seeds as possible so that you’re able to bloom when the time is right.

We’ve been impressed with your work, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe that what sets me apart from the hundreds of Realtors is for sure my mortgage background. I basically pre-qualify them before them having their credit pulled by a lender (in some cases I save my client from a pull that is unnecessary) other cases I am working with self-employed people and telling them about loans that they didn’t know existed. It is very important to know the client’s situation and guide them through it vs leaving it all up to the loan officer and being in the dark.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Business-wise, what makes me extremely happy is knowing that my clients had a great experience working with me. I tend to attract first-generation home buyers and that is also soooooo damn cool to me, because I am one as well.

In my personal life, I really find happiness when I do get those little breaks from business to just spend with my son and husband. As a business owners, its not every day that we can sit on the sofa and watch a movie or go for a walk. So when I do have downtime, I take advantage.

I am also working on some amazing charity events coming up and this always brings me the brightest joy and really makes me appreciate all that this world has to offer us a bit more.
