Today we’d like to introduce you to Erick Trejo.
Hi Erick, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story of being a Gay teenager and figuring out what is it to be gay and having to struggle a lot and facing a lot of obstacles, I first came out as bisexual in 7th grade when I was 14, I was still scared to fully come out until 8th grade when I came out fully gay and I was reached by open arms by friends but with the story of me coming out to my family, is where I face a lot of depression since my family wasn’t having the idea of it, it was hard for them to accept it and they still struggle with it but I was trap and scared for my life and was pushing day by day to see if I have a future, and I been working since I was 16 and I owned a car by 17 and I been paying for my own stuff ever since. I have been invited to a podcast to put my story out there and give my opinion about sensitive topics that I’m not afraid to talk about.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s was definitely a hard road for me, when I tell people the details of what I experienced, they all have respected me more and are surprised that, I was able to over come that, for me, I didn’t have access to talk to anyone for 2 years straight and I was alone and mentally struggle every day.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
So I work at a mall at the moment, since I’m only 17. I don’t have a real job most people will say, but I work at a little stand called animal tour and it’s those animal karts people see on TikTok.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy the most is the friends that are true to me and my passion is dance and singing, although singing is just for fun, dancing-wise, I would like to pursue that as a future career.
