Meet Rudy Albarran

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rudy Albarran.

Rudy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started when I did a video for my son’s birthday. I edited the video, added music and created a highlight and everyone loved it. I started to get requests for birthday parties to do more video highlights. I quickly found that this was very popular as social media sharing was on the rise and decided to take it to the next level. I went to college for Video Production for the next two years. My mind was like a sponge, during my education in video I found the same principles in photography and naturally added that to my skillsets. The rest is history, I’ve been fortunate to network and make connections with JJ at The Professional AVL that got me events for big names like Univision, 97.9 the box, Mega 101, and more. I’ve had the opportunity to film and meet local personalities like Raul Brindis from 102.9, and superstars like Paul Wall, Elvis Crespo, El Torito, Prince Royce and many more! I’ve had the opportunity to work at the Bell Tower, a premier venue where I shot countless upsacle Weddings and events which really brought me to the next level. Ive done personal 1 on 1 photoshoots and have been in charge of running the entire video program for Fiesta’s Patrias which is an event at the Reliant Arena run through Univision with over 60,000 fans in attendance. Now I have the honor of working with my son Anthony Albarran as he creates his path into the Video and Photography industry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were definitely struggles along the way, you cant have victory without some form of defeat. You need the scars to make you stronger. I’ve made mistakes, worked long hours, I’ve struggled, but I didn’t give up. There was a period of time where I was doing weddings for the Bell Tower where I had multiple back to back to back events along with other venue’s where I wasn’t available for any Friday, Saturday, or Sunday’s for over a year. Weekdays were for editing and weekends were for event’s and I missed my family time. But found my balance and have had the opportunity for those experiences.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Video and Photography, Im most known for Weddings and Quinceaneras. I enjoy working with clients and capturing their special moments. I like the fast paced nature of working those events. Im quickly able to adapt to unforseen changes in events and have had several compliments from wedding planners who work with videographers and photographers often. What sets me apart is that I can do it all, Photoshoots, Weddings and Large Concerts. I remember i was doing an event for Univision where the people who were in charge of the sponsor advertising forgot to bring the logos for the sponsors. I was running the Videography for the event where I had three cameramen shooting the artists while I switched between the camera angles and projected it to large screens so the 60,ooo in attendance could see the show. In the middle of all that I downloaded the logos, converted the files in photoshop then created a slideshow or the commercials! All while working on the live show!

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I couldn’t have done this without Jason Adair, Director of Photography and Videography at the Bell Tower and JJ from The Professional AVL. Jason got me weddings and events for upscale clients, I was able to work my style while also learning from his experience.

JJ from The Professional AVL got me to work though, there is nothing like preparing for large concerts and events, sometimes setting up for a concert getting home at 4am and going back at 7am to video and soundcheck prior to the concerts ! He provided the network with the video industry with radio stations and video broadcasting companies like Univision!
