Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Omari.
Dana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out as a dietitian hired to be over the wellness department of a medical spa. I quickly moved into consultations and becoming a medspa manager. I currently still consult for medical spas and plastic surgery offices. During my time, I realized how little the general public knew about cosmetic procedures in part to the taboo (we don’t talk about it!) and in part to celebrities and other public figures denying having had anything done, even when it’s extremely obvious. I started a page to show what procedures are, what they can do, what they look like on celebs and pointing out when celebs are spreading misinformation. The page blew up and is now very, very popular.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was an unexpected road. I had no idea it would blow up like this. I had no idea the opportunities that would come of it. There were definitely some little bumps along the way, but it only made me fully realize my page’s potential.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have a dual career in my life currently.
My full-time job is: I’m a dietitian with a master’s in nutrition biochemistry. I teach nutrition to health care providers for their continuing education needs.
My side business is: I’m an influencer – with over 230k followers – and my content is: cosmetic procedures, skincare and a dose of pop culture. Bc of this and my background in the aesthetics industry, I’m also a social media specialist consultant for medical spas and plastic surgeons.
I’m very proud of having forged a unique career for myself both in dietetics and in the social media space.
How do you define success?
I think success starts with setting goals and achieving them. But sometimes success is taking on opportunities you never knew were possible. And that’s what’s been happening to me. All my hard work and dedication has afforded me opportunities that have launched my career into new spaces where I have new goals to accomplish.
