Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy King.
Hi Tracy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Houston, I returned to The Bayou City after receiving a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Denver with 1 year abroad at The University of Westminster in London, England. I studied geography, marketing and Spanish which all mix perfectly together for my current role as a Top Producing Realtor!
I got into real estate by starting with real estate photography, an additional subject to my photography portfolio. I loved it so much that I decided to get my real estate license. I interviewed with 12 or so brokerages before I found Century 21 Top Realty, where I’ve been since day 1. I hit the ground running and jumped in the deep end when it came to starting my business and it’s grown exponentially since! My first 6 months, I had completed 19 transactions, including rentals and buyers. In 2019, I got pregnant with my twins so I started my team, Tracy King Realty Group (now The Howdy Group), where I had agents to help me navigate my showings and inspections while I was on bedrest/giving birth. I got a house under contract from the hospital right before my C Section and never stopped selling throughout motherhood of twins!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a stressful road for sure, navigating the market as it changes so drastically, but I’ve never stopped trying. I’ve wasted a huge amount of money on certain marketing platforms and I’ve also found the ones that work for me, but for over a year now I’ve been working on just a referral basis and it has been working great. Of course, I am still expanding my business and starting to focus on the kind of client that I love to work with, and I’m glad I have the option to do so.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Howdy Group?
Currently, we are a team of 4 women. As a team lead, I help the other 3 ladies navigate their business by providing them leads and assistance while also working my own transactions. I love working with first-time home buyers as I know how exciting it is to buy your first home, and I also enjoy working with investors with a creative eye. I’m known for my service. I am great with communication and getting things done in a timely manner. That may not sound like a lot, but trust me, it’s the difference between pulling your hair out and getting a massage. Having an agent that picks up their phone and will negotiate on their client’s behalf like a ninja can result in getting the right home at the right price or losing a bidding war from not following up.
I love my Howdy brand. I think it has a friendly vibe and showcases Houston as a whole. Readers should know that picking the right Realtor to work with makes a huge difference in the home buying and selling experience and can result in a drastic financial difference, positive or negative. It’s very important to know your agent’s background and understanding of the market, home improvements, and construction as it plays a vital role when it comes to pricing and quality.
