Hi Segura, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Segura Nino, I was born and raised in a small town in Texas. I currently live outside of Houston in the country with my husband and 2 beautiful kids, Growing up I changed my career paths so many times, I remember since I was little I wanted to be a fashion designer. I used to stay in my room all day sewing clothing pieces together, in the meantime I was also a hairstylist for my mom. I loved doing hair, so I was stuck in between being a fashion designer and a hairstylist but that changed immediately when I graduated high school. I found my passion in the beauty and journalism industry, In 2016 I decided to launch my own online virgin hair boutique weloveithair. What inspired me the most about opening a hair boutique was me being a customer buying hair all the time and being a hairstylist for my mom growing up, this is something I always wanted to do but never found the time being a full-time student. After graduating college with my degree in communication I finally had the time to seek out a hair supplier for my hair business, soon after opening my online business things started to fall in place. I was able to achieve my long list of goals and spend more time in the Journalism industry, I’ve connected with so many other journalists, created my own talk show, podcast, and YouTube channel, and received the chance to interview many celebrities. While accomplishing these goals I mothered 2 beautiful children and became a bonus mom and wife, I started my own blog to help mothers become more organized and healthy, became a mentor to many individuals, an influencer, a published author, fashion model, brand ambassador, and a salon owner of Sv Beauty & Spa. I always wanted to open my own salon, but never found the time to open one. While balancing being a wife, mother and entrepreneur take hard work, dedication and time it can take you off of your path at times. A lot of people ask me how I do it but I’m a natural born achiever with a very ambitious personality, I’m excited to say that I can now transition my online hair boutique into my own salon. Sv Beauty and spa will officially be open in August.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur is not always a smooth road, Entrepreneurship requires a lot of hard work and perseverance it took me years of hard work, long hours, late nights, consistency and discipline for me to be where I am today. The beauty and journalism industry both required me to have funds and connections to get started, luckily my husband has been the financial foundation to both my Journalism career and the launch of my online boutique and salon. When I started I absolutely had no connections which hindered me, It took me a few years to gain connections, to start networking and collaborate with other like-minded individuals like me. Having the money and connections, I needed to get started giving me the opportunity to have a successful online hair boutique and become successful in the Journalism industry.

I currently have 2 businesses “We Love it Hair” boutique and a salon “Sv beauty & Spa”
We love it Hair is a hair extension boutique that offers the highest grade of virgin hair at a good price and microblading services. We offers Closures, Frontals, Wigs, Eyelashes, Hair Products and already dyed hair. Our goal is to keep customers satisfied and happy and to provide you with consistent access to a variety of unique virgin hair products that are versatile and last for a very long time and microblading services that last up to a year. We love it hair was established in 2016 by co-founder Segura Nino, what inspired me most about opening a virgin hair boutique is me being a customer to buying hair all the time and being a hair stylist to my mom growing up, this is something I always wanted to do but never found the time being a full-time student, after graduating with my associates degree in communication I finally had the time to seek out a hair supplier for my hair business, after I found good quality virgin hair I decided to start my online business. I recently added microblading services to my boutique because I want to help women look there best and make it easier to not have to deal with the hassle of filling in your eyebrows everyday. I do believe we love it hair will grow into a strong and thriving organization; we are looking forward to making customers happy and satisfied and to do business with you many years to come.
Sv Beauty & Spa salon is the icing on the cake, I can now transition We Love It Hair inside of my salon and offer microblading services on sight. Sv Beauty & Spa will offer a variety of services such as hair styling, pedicures, manicures, facials, waxing and so much more. Our spa will help de-stress and calm your mind. Think of it as a mini-retreat away from the kids, work or spouse.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I learned not to depend on people, because a lot of people do not have your best interest. Being dependent on others can be a barrier to your success. The advantage of depending on yourself is the best route to go because it gives you the self-acceptance you need for success, help you build strong bonds with others, and help solve problems and make hard decisions on your own.
