Today we’d like to introduce you to Kieara Floyd.
Hi Kieara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I first discovered my passion for dipped treats about ten years ago while on a family vacation at the Nickelodeon Hotel. My mom noticed slime-themed chocolate-covered pretzels and asked a staff member to tell us more about the treats. Once we returned home, I began to practice dipping strawberries, Oreos and pretzels. Since then, I have absorbed knowledge from any and everywhere I could, including dessert shows and social media. Throughout the years I have been able to practice different techniques to find what works best for me all while consistently improving my skills.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The transition from hobby to entrepreneurship has been a blessing in disguise. After deciding to establish Perfectly Treated, many difficulties came my way. While observing other treat makers online, I began to doubt my potential. I struggled with knowing my worth and wondered where I fit in an industry that is heavily saturated. There are so many great treat makers in my surrounding areas, but I soon realized that there is enough room for everyone to thrive. Since my mindset has changed, and I became motivated to practice and improve in any way that I can. Becoming an owner of a small business has presented challenges that I never thought I’d face but I am grateful to have found something I’m passionate about.

Perfectly Treated is a business ran by Kieara Floyd, a treat maker who is consistently improving her craft. Perfectly Treated specializes in chocolate-covered strawberries, Oreo, pretzels, Rice Crispies and more. Sets can be as simple as milk chocolate-covered strawberries with a drizzle to themed treats. Perfectly Treated is unique because I can provide my authentic personality through my work. I refer to my treats as artwork because each set is different in its own way. I can provide cohesive and elegant designs that will add to your next event.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Social media is my favorite resource because it allows me to network with other treat makers. I am able to connect with individuals who have faced problems I may come across. I’ve learned which chocolates provide the best result, what temperature is best, how to drip properly and so much more from utilizing my peers.
