Today we’d like to introduce you to Gulfbank G.
Hi Gulfbank, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got inspired to make music by being around a couple of my best friends and their uncle. They would freestyle and rap over beats all night when we would hang out, so I picked it up from there. More into writing music, I began writing down my music around ten, 11 years old and started making my own music since. I knew what type of music I’ve always wanted to make, catchy lyrics, lyrics that could have more than one meaning to them, smooth songs about love, and experiences I’ve been in fun upbeat music. I feel I keep the Houston sound, but I do it in my own way.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I wouldn’t say a smooth road. You know, sometimes you have a vision for things and it may just not pan out for you at the time. Sometimes you may not get the views or the insight that you think you should get, you know? I know things take time, and staying consistent will lead to all of those things, got to keep working.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m Gulfbank G, an hip-hop artist out of Houston, TX. My personality definitely translates into my music. For instance, the way I’m outgoing, fly, and real smooth really reflects the type of music I enjoy making. I also like making music about my feelings and experiences I may have gone through as well. I want my listeners and supporters to know that I’m authentic and always myself.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My family, my friends, everybody that shows an ounce of support, I really appreciate every bit of it. It pushes me and makes me want to continue to put out dope content for everybody. If we’ve worked before whether it be music, music videos, cover designing if we’ve had encounters and it’s been love! Thank you!!
