Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Lester.
Hi Crystal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I found my love for art at a young age; starting around seven years old. I would draw portraits of my pets and family members. Over the years, I developed my skills into a business for myself as a face painter until COVID put a stop to my business. I still had a desire to create artwork. I took a chance and picked up a few art supplies to keep me busy during the pandemic. I sold every painting since. I was slowly growing clientele but it wasn’t supporting me financially at the time. I started working in a wearhouse while painting portraits on the side. One day, I reached out to the paint your life website. Soon, I was signed on and accepting orders. They handle all the customer service for me. Paint your life has made it so easy to be an artist in the modern world. I’m a mother of three, and painting your life helps me manage my time between orders. It’s my honor to paint your life. I truly enjoy creating artwork that can be passed down from one generation to the next.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growing up, I faced many obstacles. I was raised in a low-income family on the south side of Houston. While looking to make some extra income started a face painting business. Where I was very successful for ten years, and then COVID-19 hit Houston, Texas. I was forced to stop creating. We managed but my family ended up getting evicted from our apartment. I packed up all my art supplies. After six months of living with our family, we moved into our first house. Where I finally was able to unpack my art supplies, set up my first studio, and began taking orders for paintyourlife.com The website has helped me to be creative while working from home. I’m so blessed to be able to reach customers all over the world.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an acrylic artist. I specialize in portraits. I am most proud of the way my art makes people feel when they see it. I’m proud too know they will cherish the painting in their home. Proud of my art to be shared with generations. I put my time into each brush stroke. What sets me apart from other artists is my attention to detail. The notice the small things that make up the big picture.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I like to God for blessing me with my creative soul. I want to thank my parents for nurturing my creative spirit, even when it leads to me drawing on the walls or myself. I like to thank my husband for buying my first canvas that leads to this journey. Much appreciation to my family and friends who constantly support me through all stages of my journey. I absolutely have to thank paintyourlife.com for hiring me. They’ve offered me consistent work that has contributed to my success. With paintyourlife.com I am able to create my best art for customers all over the world.
