Hi Nyajal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Houston in 2019 from a small town in Minnesota. I have a background in banking and was a bank manager for five years. I always had a love for real estate since I was in college and finally decided to make the career shift once I was set on a move to Houston. I wanted to be in a large diverse city and felt like Houston had a lot to offer. I started with a larger brokerage but decided a smaller boutique brokerage was a better fit. I can across Money Move Locating/The David Ivy group and was their first Houston agent. With them, I started my Real Estate career in Apartment Locating as well as Residentials Transactions. I also have a background in Social Media Marketing in the Beauty/Lifestyle Niche and am able to use what I’ve learned as a part of my marketing in Real Estate!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was initially a bit tougher because as a brand new agent I definitely needed a bit of guidance. I was learning a new industry and getting to know the city so it felt a bit slower. I am always one of the first in my personal community to enter the real estate industry so I have been learning on my own along the way. The biggest hurdles were familiarity with neighborhoods, but now I feel like I know Houston like the back of my hand. Being at Money Move Locating, I am able to grow with a smaller team and really customize my process and do things my own way which allows me to be creative and still connect with my clients!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am an agent with Money Move Locating and The David Ivy Group. I assist clients who are relocating to or within the city to find their Dream homes or apartments by using my expertise in the market. I like to stand out as an agent by being present in the transactions with my clients. I really want them to feel that I am just as invested in their needs as they are. I always want my client to walk away feeling like they’ve been aware of everything going on throughout the process and to become a go-to Realtor for them now and in the future. I am very proud of the way I am establishing myself in the Houston area, and being recognized by the vendors and properties I work with. I’d like readers to know that I am an agent who is here for them, values their business, and is fully invested in getting them what they need! Again, I offer apartment locating services to those looking to relocate to the Houston Area or are already living in the city. I also am here to assist those looking to Buy or Sell their homes!
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I am a big fan of mindfulness podcasts or clips on youtube. I normally will play a motivation playlist while I work or work out which really sets the tone for my day. One of my favorite Books is Atomic Habits, which has really helped me with forming the habits necessary to be a productive individual.
