Inspiring Conversations with Salone Britt of Simply Midland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Salone Britt.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in the small town of Lamesa, TX. When I was 15 I was diagnosed with Hyperactive thyroid, and later I learned it was the autoimmune condition- Graves disease. I went to the University of Texas from 2014-2018 and while I was there I met and babysat for the co-founder of Branch Basics, a nontoxic cleaning product/company, and Kelly introduced me to the world of Non-Toxic Living. When I graduated in 2018 with a communication degree I went to work in real estate for CBRE and really began researching a more natural lifestyle. I became obsessed with living a clean, nontoxic life and getting off all pharmaceuticals. I have had a long healing journey and have done lots of crazy treatments, but I can happily say I am off all pharmaceutical drugs. I believe the body is meant to thrive and given the right environment, food, water, and mindset that is completely possible. My husband, James, and I moved from Houston to Midland, TX in September of 2021 and I decided I wanted to open a wellness center. I wanted to bring health products and alternative treatments to West Texas. My business partner, Heather Claybrook, and I are opening Simply Midland at the beginning of the year and are so excited to share our stories and favorite healing tools with Midland.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our biggest obstacle has been finding a space. We have been looking since March 2022 and are still working on signing a lease. This has been a great time to learn patience and practice problem-solving skills.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Simply Midland?
What sets us apart is the individual healing journeys that have brought us to opening Simply. Heather and I both bring great perspectives in healing and nontoxic living.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I am a Christian so I would say that following God’s plan has made Simply possible. A huge blessing has been all the amazing people and community I have made while getting Simply started.
