Rising Stars: Meet Nandy Versatil

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nandy Versatil.

Hi Nandy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Dominican-born artist and raised in New York City.

I started making music professionally almost two years ago. My Bachata fusions took off around the world, specially within the dance scene and since then, I decided to focus on the genre.

My Bachata is modern with a futuristic urban sound. People enjoy dancing and listening to it no matter the language they speak. Versátil comes from being able to do many creative jobs.

I currently have two albums out; Flow y Pikete and La Melma which was released July 1st.

This year I had the pleasure of Performing at the Houston Latin fest as well as at Rise Rooftop and hope to return for more performances.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My biggest obstacle as an independent artist has been organizing interviews and spreading my music without a budget since making tropical music is already going against the wave and something that’s costly to do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in making Tropical Music, most specifically Bachata.

I’m super proud of making a Bachata album which includes 15 songs.

My unique sound, flow and voice tone sets me apart from everyone within the genre.

How do you define success?
Giving people new music to dance and listen to.
