Today we’d like to introduce you to Sidney Jemison and Tyson Wright.
Hi Sidney and Tyson, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We both were established barbers individually. We worked together at a barbershop and our friendship grew due to our common attention to be personal with our clients. Shortly after we found ourselves birthing an environment where cutting hair was secondary to getting clean, detailed service.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was nowhere near a smooth road, dealing with multiple variables and obstacles such as being younger in an industry that respects tenure, being half woman-owned and being minorities those come with its own difficulties but we think that’s what makes the end result so special being able to overcome.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We offer premium barbershop experiences by serving detailed and valuable service, having great conversations and educating on hair care. We are most proud of our shop’s culture and the unity in it. We are different from others because we care about our work, our relationship with clients, and having a sense of artistry within barbering.
How do you think about luck?
No luck. All hard work, dedication, consistency and belief in yourself. All things happen for a reason that you decide to be good or bad. We believe taking all things as good results to being better tomorrow.
