Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond Capreé.
Hi Diamond Capreé please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been at Houston Texas for about a year now still pushing this dream I have. I’m slowly making progress thanks to God and hard work. I now run my own radio show called R&B Hearts on Amp at 11 EST every Monday!
I’m still releasing music on an independent level. I plan to go on my first tour next summer with a few other independent artists as well. I’ve been making progress in although it’s been a slow progress its steps moving forward and I’m thankful for them.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When you’re on a quest for success is never a smooth ride. I feel like God put obstacles in your life to see how bad you really want it. If you want it as bad as you say you do, you’ll beat all odds and find your way around obstacles. You never want it to be easy because when you obtain your success, you’ll be thankful that you worked for it that way, you appreciate it more. So long story short, no it hasn’t been a smooth ride and I never wanted to be. I want to constantly evolve and grow that causes for me to be uncomfortable that causes for roadblocks. My dream is worth any challenge.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Independent artists coming out of Nebraska, it’s not easy to gang success. I mean you can name on one hand how many successful people came from Nebraska. Music is my life, music is what I’ve always done I’m expanding now with the radio show I have and soon a podcast. I’m releasing music and being an artist will be my number one priority always. I’m rhythm and blues until I die. I’m just unique all around I think I’m most known for my sing/raps. If you listen to any of my music, you’ll notice I’m not much of a powerhouse; I’m more of a rapper-singer. Due to my love of hip hop, I always have to add elements of that in the songs I sing. I’m also really known for my pen game. I’m pretty impeccable with the pen if I do say so myself. The thing I’m proud of the most about myself is my faith in God and my believe in myself. Through this eight years struggle of me becoming an artist, I never gave up on myself and I never will.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe life is all about taking risks. Playing it safe never will get you anywhere. Or at least farther in life, you always want to challenge yourself to do more and step out on faith. The best things in life come after being out of your comfort zone. So when you’ve mastered taking risks every day, you become immune to it. You don’t wanna be stuck and stagnant your whole life; you want to move forward; you want to evolve. I’m always up for new challenges I know that it’ll make me grow into the person that I’ve always seen myself as, so for me I’m like bring going the risk!
