Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Elmore.
Hi Joseph, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out rapping. I never thought about Directing at all. I won a contest, best rapper in my city (Buffalo, NY) and a friend asked me if I wanted to shoot a music video for local TV. When we did, I came up with all of the ideas and concepts, so that friend told me that I should write a movie. At the same time, I was in college and I took a screenwriting class, after that I was hooked. I wanted to make movies.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I had to leave my family and everyone I love in Buffalo, NY to chase this dream. I slept on other people’s couches for years, slept in a friend’s car, I even slept in a building garage. At the time I didn’t even realize I was homeless, I was just doing what I had to do.

ElmoreVision Entertainment is a film and television production company. Our goal is to entertain and spark conversation on controversial issues. We employ people and we give people with a passion for film and acting an opportunity to live their dreams. I am the Writer, Director, Producer, editor and CEO of the company, I have a team of six amazing people, Troy Wooten, Producer, Candy Gonzales, Producer, Linda Wu, Producer, Neil Harris, Producer/Musical Supervisor, Sherreco Allen, Producer, Solomon Jennings, Graphic Designer and co-producer.
We have about four movies GUTTER, COMPLEX, HOW TO GET AWAY WITH CHEATING and SHE SEXY out on various streaming platforms, such as TUBI, FOX SOUL, and NBC PEACOCK. Our next feature film PLATINUM is scheduled to be released on DECEMBER 6TH of this year 2022. 10 REASONS WHY MEN CHEAT has a March 16th, 2023 release date and we have three other films, DOUBLE KILL, PERC 30 and EVERYBODY HATES CHRISTMAS that should release in 2023. So we are expecting a really big year.
We are a small production company but we are growing at a rapid pace. People are coming to us, looking to invest, which is great, but we are not looking for investors unless they are truly serious about helping us take the next step, which is to move into bigger movies with more stars and bigger budgets. What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson that I have learned on this journey is to be yourself and never give up. If you believe in yourself, you can do whatever you set your mind to do. When I started out, my college professors wanted me to write novels. I wanted to write movies. They said there was an 8 million to 1 chance that I would ever make a movie that would go to theaters. They said that specifically. Five years later, my movie SPEED-DATING was in theaters.
