Today we’d like to introduce you to Alijah Hernandez.
Hi Alijah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Alijah Hernandez. I go by AlijahTheBarber or ATB. I’m the youngest barber in Htown and I just released my new single “Hard Times”.
I started cutting hair at the age of just 4yrs old being inspired by my dad FrankyTheBarber I begin to use my talents to give back to the community by offering free haircuts to the kids and raising money for the holidays to be used to give back. Shortly after that I started hitting headlines on the news stations and making it on the Steve Harvey show at the age of just 7yrs old. 13 tv Interviews and performing to show my talents is what I enjoyed but it’s nothing like a happy heart when you make another kid smile.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everything was amazing until, COVID happened. Shortly after COVID I started losing family back to back and then the new year came and I broke my arm. As I sat down starting to feel depressed thinking I won’t be able to cut hair anymore, And how wasn’t going to be able to help the kids what am I gonna do lord? All I could think of is to pray and pray for God to help me use my talents in other ways so that I can continue to inspire children around the world. A few weeks later, the Uvalde shooting happened and I couldn’t take it any more to hear about all these innocent children losing their lives to gun violence and nothing being done and I needed to express my self. So god spoke to me and said I know how much you love music and how much you wanna keep the kids inspired. So I picked up my pencil and notebook and begin to write. A few months later, I’ve released my single “Hard times” on all music platforms. Make sure to check it out. It’s a powerful song and message. And I give all glory to god

I’m no different from any other child, just uniquely made. I have a heart of gold and a mighty talent from god.
I am most proud of my parents Franky Hernandez and Shyann Longoria they inspire me every day to be my best and never give up. They are the best role models and motivators a child could have.
