Today we’d like to introduce you to Zamarianne Bradley.
Zamarianne, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Just wanna start off by saying, Thank you God that he is giving me another day to see. Jumping right into it, My name is Zamarianne Bradley. Born to a Native American Indian Mother, Adrianne Bradley and a Caribbean Father, Antonio Watson, in Washington D.C. on February 14th, 1989. I am the Third oldest of 9 siblings. Unfortunately, in the 90s era it was a lot going on with parents, that I was submitted in being Raised in Foster Care system. You know I have made inevitable decisions in my life that, I have finally taken the time to understand my lesson and grow from those lessons. From being raised by a single mother who was a drug user with 9 children to raise and being Raised in the Foster Care system and trying to understand myself as a Black American Trans, it was definitely a crazy roller coaster. From starting off from being a little boy, being fascinated with my grandmother Geraldine Tyler Rest her soul and my mother sitting at their vanity mirrors. On the days they got dressed up to go out, again I was raised in foster care but I had moments where I would go back to my mom and have visitation time and just seeing my mom, her sisters and my grandmother get themselves together was mind-blowing. That really embraces me to Express myself.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, being raised in the rough parts of D.C., S.E. in the 90’s era at that, was a really crazy and rough era. Where drugs were heavy everywhere, and killings were happening everywhere. And still, somehow, my family end up continuing to show support and love for each other, which made me grow into the loving person that I am today. Now being raised in foster care, I was shown a different type of love. With me embracing my differences of being born different. I was scared to show who I really was. I always kept myself bottled up and never wanted to talk to people. Because of how different I was that they would think I am weird. Even though they thought I was weird because I never talked LOL! but I had other people speaking for me and making decisions for me til I found the courage to start speaking up for myself. Again from over the years has given me certain reason on decisions that were made for survival. From me doing Prostitution, Selling my body, Stealing, to even going to jail for having to defend myself. Has been some obstacles and struggles for me to find myself. Which now that has brought me to dedicate my life to my modeling career. To show the youth and the world that there is a different route that you can go without you having to be subjected to what’s being shown or forced onto you. I am a living proof and an example! I want to encourage the youth, that feel that they are different to embrace their differences and be who they are authentically! Don’t be scared to show who you are. And surround yourself with people that want to embrace your Authenticity!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Well, I specialize in modeling singing acting dancing, and being an all-around businesswoman. I focus on things that are different and that is out of the normal and ordinary. I like to bring the beauty out of the ordinary to bring light to the beautiful things that the ordinary Eye doesn’t see. I am a well-grounded singer and I like to take and test my voice in different ranges. With bringing emotions from places that I never would’ve thought existed. As well as managing all of my creative existence of being here to fully focus on my purpose.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
You have to take risks to exist in this world, because if you don’t, you’ll stay stuck in a place where people will only allow you to stay. I am a prime example of being a risk taker especially just showing people the difference, in general dysmorphia, and the diversity in embracing culture. And being fearless in showing the world the deepest parts of who you are! Definitely can say I am a risk taker.
