Hidden Gems: Meet Jacori Zephyr of Enter the Zen Massage Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacori Zephyr.

Hi Jacori, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey began in November 2020. While in school for massage therapy, I began seeing clients on my own to build a foundation as soon as possible. I started out doing house calls only. I’d bring my table, sheets, towel warmer, and any other items needed. Since then, I have dedicated my time and my craft to become a better therapist. I’ve practiced new techniques, expanded my menu to meet more needs of my clients and future clients, and I’ve begun making my own massage oils that I use for my sessions and personal care. I got where I am today by advertising every day and delivering an experience in massage unlike what people are used to.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been both smooth and a little bumpy, but that was to be expected. The beautiful thing about it is all of that’s come from the road being the way it’s been. The smoothness allowed me to bring so much joy to so many people. A lot of people didn’t like massages, didn’t like who or where they had gotten massages before, or just felt like massages weren’t effective. I changed so many minds, and that was important to me. I also had people pass judgment on my style and were hesitant to book me as their therapist. I took pleasure in the way their moods changed as well. Never judge a book by its cover. The bumpy parts of the road helped shape my policies for the better and taught me that not everyone will see massage as I do and that’s ok. I’ve learned from every session and that makes the road traveled a special one.

We’ve been impressed with Enter the Zen Massage Therapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The most important aspect of a massage is that the massage be specifically catered to you and your needs. What I want people to know about me and my business is that you come first. Each session is a full-body massage and is orchestrated based on the areas you think need the most attention. I provide basic massages I call “Zen” which is my style. Sports massages, pre & postnatal massages, lymphatic massages for those who have had surgeries, and sensual style massages. I also provide quick services if one doesn’t need a full body massage, such as a full body stretch or scalp massage. I’m known for my specific style of techniques and routines. I massage in a soothing and effective manner. My menu is quite long and along with that, I make my own massage oil. It’s filled with nut-free, cold-pressed, and organic materials. I have different aromas for aromatherapy, and it’s great for more than a massage. I use the oil for my hair, face, and beard and as a daily moisturizer in place of lotion. I’m still mobile and available for house calls, and I also offer sessions at my location in NW Houston.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Networking for me has been a blast! I’ve met so many entrepreneurs and others on the verge. We share similar ideas and the desire to improve ourselves. What’s worked well for me is having an open mind and always remaining humble. There’s never too much knowledge for one man.
