Today we’d like to introduce you to Joanna Suazo.
Hi Joanna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hola, I’m Joanna and the founder of Its JoJo, LLC. After working a couple of years behind the bar, I developed a passion when it came to creating craft cocktails and learning the specifics of producing a spirit, wine, beer, etc. and sharing that enthusiasm with my customers. At first, I’d taken the job as an ordinary part-time to help pay for college – never did I imagine the passion would build to great extent. I then slowly began working independently offering bar services for small gatherings and/or private events, still with no intention to start a business.
In 2019, I got the unexpected news that I was going to be a mom to a handsome baby boy with only one month to prepare…I was seven months pregnant! During this life change and being a single mom, I faced many challenges to make ends meet and ensure we had all the needed essentials. Although I tried to keep a positive outlook – it was easier said than done – I’d gotten into a state of severe stress. But my son was my motivation to strive and keep pushing forward along with having a strong faith.
After some refocus and meditation, along with my son being my motivation to keep fighting. I began to develop a business plan and create the foundation of Its JoJo, LLC. I converted my passion into a business, and it is when I decided to become a mobile bartender.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey hasn’t been a smooth path. I’ve encountered a couple of bumps on the road and have taken each of these “bumps” as a learning experience. Some struggles I’ve come across are not receiving payment, no-call, no-show customers, and unsuccessful/last-minute canceled events. And, of course, financial loss.

Whether it is a small gathering or business event, Its JoJo assists with professional and one-of-a-kind bar services! Our customers provide the alcohol, mixers, ice/cups, etc. and we take care of the rest. With over 4 years experience in the industry, Its JoJo has a true passion when it comes to cocktail making and working behind the bar. I care about our customers and there’s nothing more important to me than executing a memorable, spectacular bar experience. We work closely with our customers to ensure their expectations are met by doing consults, recommendations on quantity needed, and/or collaborating when custom drinks are requested.
We offer services in Houston and surrounding areas. We are hoping to essentially expand outside of Houston.
