Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Lynch.
Nikki, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After struggling to gain employment I had to make a decision for myself and my kids. At 35 I packed my kids up and left my home state and moved to a strange city where I literally knew 2 people and by God’s grace one knew the owner of a bar and he hired me 2 days after arriving in my new city. I moved into a hotel (we were seriously struggling) and at 35 I started out as a server in a small dive bar. From there, I worked my way up to Bartender, as a bartender, I had never made so much money and it changed everything for me and my family. I grew to love my job and I was a complete natural at mixing cocktails. Customers started to notice and started hiring me to do private events, which led me to start my own mobile bartending business and eventually open my second business…Branding Bartenders and I took my knowledge and started teaching other bartenders how to start their own mobile bar companies. I’ve coached over 150 mobile bartenders in the last 2 years.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road at all! I literally worked my way up through trial and error and lots of prayers. Being an entrepreneur is not as easy as people make it seem. Working for yourself is a sacrifice most aren’t ready for. It’s time away from family, and friends, and that sometimes can lead to rifts. I do want to add that giving up should never be an option. If you keep going you have no other choice but to succeed.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I learned that your business has to be able to withstand any kind of hit and still be able to operate. I encouraged my bartenders to teach virtual classes and create ebooks to offset their income.
