Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Bridges.
Hi Courtney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Conversational Cocktails was started during the pandemic. Since all the bars were closed, I started to experiment with making some of my favorite cocktails I would get out; an old-fashioned, margarita on the rocks or a french 75. Once I perfected the way I liked those, I figured why not experiment in making some cocktails I haven’t done before and make some of my own. That is when I got the idea to write a cocktail book with 20 recipes, including 16 originals, and talk a bit about my story. I didn’t want to stop there so I designed coasters and I am launching a website in October 2022 where you can buy cocktail kits to make some new recipes at home.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
To be honest, the process of making cocktails was fun and easy. I just started to think about what flavors I liked, the foods I enjoyed and some of the non-alcoholic drinks I wanted to make in a different way. The hardest part was finishing the book. It took a lot of taste testing (the fun part), making sure the recipes were perfect and of course getting pictures done for the book. I definitely did struggle with the view of my website and making sure I had all the necessary content to launch holiday kits for 2022. However, I absolutely love the experimenting portion so the cocktail recipes come quite easy.

This business is all about bringing a special experience to your home and/or event. We specialize in cocktail kits to do with others and to start conversations, either with prompts or with the drink itself. We also provide business, for-profit & non-profit, events (i.e. launches, weddings) and private parties with specialty cocktails. We cater to your specific needs and provide a specialty cocktail fit just for you.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I have learned along this journey is to take a leap of faith. I didn’t think folks would be interested in another cocktail book or another cocktail website, but I knew Conversational Cocktails was unique. I wasn’t just providing traditional cocktails, but new recipes that could not be found anywhere in the world. I wanted to also encourage folks to have a healthy relationship with cocktails, encourage them to try something new, and have a great time while making these cocktails. So, in a nutshell, take a leap of faith and don’t be afraid because it might turn out to be something wonderful.
