Check Out Katherine Burks’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Burks.

Hi Katherine, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a teacher and I always wanted to start my own business but I was trying to figure out what exactly, one thing I love is lipgloss and purses so I decide to start my own lipgloss and lipstick line to see how things go before I did my purse line. Also, I love kids, and I wanted to do something for them as well.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road because it hard to make constant sales but I have been working on being patient and just keep improving and it makes things a lot better.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a 4th-grade teacher and I have been teaching for six years now, and I absolutely enjoy it. I do not really specialize in anything but my new business does help me a lot and to get my brand out there. One thing I’m very proud of is actually making my business come true because it’s not easy but I have been doing well in it. And what sets me apart is being different and just being my own persona.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I do like to read a good book, I haven’t read in a while because my life is centered around my job, my business, and I am in school for my PhD. But I do love to watch movies, and different podcasts I can relate to.

Pricing:

  • All my lipgloss and lipstick range from $10 to $15 and my kid’s lipgloss is $8.
