Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Delgado.
Hi Monica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I came to this country 5 years ago and I can say without a doubt it’s been the best rollercoaster of my life. I arrived to Houston pregnant, on vacation and without ever thinking about staying here but life had other plans.
Today, I can proudly say me and my husband are both entrepreneurs with a growing business in the city. As a content creator, image consultant, fashion, lifestyle and mommy blogger, I’ve been given the opportunity to work with over 100 local, international and worldwide brands during these past 5 years, such as TOUS, PAMPERS, GOYA, PUMA, REVOLVE, ESTEELAUDER & DISNEY to name a few.
My work as an image consultant is having a positive impact on women of all ages and recently, I launched my “emPOWERher workshop” a space where you can learn, grow, motivate yourself and do some organic networking with other female entrepreneurs from all of Texas.
We’re launching our third event this October and I couldn’t be more proud and excited.
My goal as an influencer is to empower women, no matter how old or how tall, no matter where they come from or what they do, I want them to remind that it’s all about feeling good on the inside, to look good on the outside.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve learned that every change is difficult at the beginning, messy in the middle and beautiful at the end.
So I can assure you life has been far from easy or smooth these past 5 years. However, every obstacle and every sacrifice has made me who I am today and I have to be thankful for that.
Starting from scratch in another country is the best way to humble yourself to a point where you realize what’s truly important, why you are where you are, understand what you want and where you’re going and once you know that, you become unstoppable.
Being able to grow as a person, as a woman, as a mom, a wife, a daughter and a sibling during these 5 years has helped me to become the best version of myself and that I had to thank to the difficulties and struggles I’ve been through. So what I’m trying to say to the person reading is that the only thing that matters in life, is to never give up and always keep going.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have so many things to talk about.
I think what I do is to make other women feel more confident, bold, included, listened to so that way they can reach their highest potential and explode it from the inside out.
I graduated as a lawyer but I became an entrepreneur at the age 25. I’ve had clothing brands, and accessories brands. I create content for amazing worldwide, international and local brands around the world.
I díctate workshops, image consultations, zoom master classes and recently I launched my in-person workshop called emPOWERher, my new baby and a space where women can grow, learn, motivate themself, shop and connect to other female entrepreneurs.
I do a lot of things but what I feel most proud about is mi family. My daughter and my husband are my home and my rock, I’m so proud to be part of their life and have them in mine. With them, I feel unstoppable and the luckiest woman alive.
What were you like growing up?
I’ve always loved fashion, I think since I can remember I wore tutu dresses all day inside my house. I think it was because since that early age I started to understand how important is to express who you are in every way possible, including of course what you wear.
Being able to feel comfortable and feel yourself with what you’re wearing it’s one of the most empowering yet underestimated tools you have as a person and specifically as a woman. So I think that spreading the word about this has been my goal since I was a teenager.
I graduated as a lawyer with honors in my country Venezuela, but shortly after that I started my first clothing brand, it became a success really fast. However, after a year working on that, our life changed completely and we had to move to the United States and start from scratch.
It’s been 5 years since then, but I’m now sure at my 31 years old that I was born to do this., no matter where I am or how old I get, I’ve always had this connection to expressing myself through fashion, connecting to others and making them feel valued and listened to, so that’s what you’ll see me doing in the near future.
