Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Patel.
Hi Adam, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Cypress, Texas and I am currently 24 years old. I attend the University of Houston and am graduating in the Spring of 2023 with a bachelor’s in Accounting! I’ve been working in the oil and gas field for the past 4 years and wouldn’t have asked for a better path in my life. If it wasn’t for my parent’s guidance and my friend’s support, I wouldn’t have known what direction to head in life. Since I am an extrovert and love to be outgoing, I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and seeking out new opportunities!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The roads I’ve taken to get to where I am at today have not been the smoothest. I graduated high school knowing I wanted to pursue an education career and teach elementary math. Then in my junior year at the University of Houston, I found myself stuck. I didn’t feel happy about the work I was doing in school and started losing my passion for teaching. The summer after I completed my junior year, I got hired for an internship doing finance work at a small oil and gas company and knew right away that was the new path I wanted to take.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently work for a small oil and gas company in Houston, TX doing accounting and finance work. I am an assistant to the CEO of the company and handle all accounts payables, receivables, expenses, invoicing, collections, etc. Being the youngest in the company and the only one around my age, I definitely feel set apart from the others. I am most proud of how much I’ve grown in the company, starting out as just an intern for one summer than being hired on and learning as much as I know now, it feels extremely rewarding.

As stated before, I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things from others! I have collaborated with a few small influencers and companies in the past, promoting their items and art! I am always for supporting someone in their endeavors and would love to accept the support from anyone as well!
