Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefany Figueroa.
Hi Stefany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business as a hobby just by taking photos with my iPhone, when back in 2019 my husband gifted me my very first camera & that’s how I started to take photos of my friends & family. When I did my very first sessions were all outdoors since I didn’t have a studio or a specific place to do the photos. Since I keep working more, me & my husband took a step & moved to a house where I can start a home studio so in 2020 I started to do indoor sessions.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would say in the beginning, it would be hard if the goal is to accomplish your dreams. My road has been really tough, working 24/7 to get better, try new things, and keep studying as well. There are days I was carrying all my props as a photographer I used to take all my decorations to the parks which sometimes the weather wasn’t my best friend, cakes would melt, props would fly away (because the wind), and sunny days I would have tired babies. But thank God I never could give up, it took some long days but the road is getting better now.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a family & kids photographer. I’m specialized on cake smashes & maternity portraits. I love to create new things & unique birthday photoshoots for the babies. I’m proud that God has helped me day by day to get little by little small steps I grow my business as a photographer.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
I would say follow your dreams & never give up, you will have days where you won’t feel peace with yourself, where you have so much to do but guess what? If you know what’s your goal, you will do everything in your power to get there no matter what. Don’t forget what you love & do everything with love & respect.
