Hi Israel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hello, my name is Israel Ochoa and I am the founder and president of the up and coming home building company, Ochoa Home Building & Design. I thought that this title of mine was so far out of reach but one day I decided to bring those ambitions to life and here I am. With dedication and had work, I was able to accomplish these titles and start my own business. I could not be here without the help and continuous support of my loving family. I was also able to share this dream with my brother, Alejandro Ochoa, and that itself is a reward. We come from an immigrant family that settled on South Hwy. 288 in Freeport, TX.
Our parents took the biggest leap of Faith bringing my younger sister, Eymi Ochoa, younger brother and business partner, Alejandro Ochoa, and myself, Israel Ochoa to the U.S. back in late 2000. Nothing was ever easy for us, we were always striving for a better tomorrow by working late shifts, working weekends, and even working holidays. Even in the midst of all of that, we were always thankful that our parents who sacrificed a lot, to give us everything!
Fast forward to 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, our family took yet another leap of faith. My family and my brother’s family started our own home-building company called Ochoa Home Building & Design., which has been a dream of mine for a very long time. We have been extremely blessed that in the midst of the pandemic, had just gotten laid off from an Engineering Company, and a whole lot of perseverance to start our own company, we were able to break through in the home building industry.
Nothing of what we do would have been a reality without our parents and our families. We bring core values such as, attention to detail, willingness to work with our clients, respect, and craftsmanship to each and every house we build, no matter the difficulty of such project.
To our parents, Felipe and Minerva Ochoa, Thank you for sacrificing so much in order to give your kids a whole world of opportunities! Not a day goes by that we do not appreciate and value that.
To My wife, Ytzamar Lara Ochoa, Thanks for all the support, prayers, and support you have shown. To my kids Azael and Yareth Ochoa, everything we do, is for you, so that you can have a brighter future just like the one my parents offered me.
To my Brother, Alejandro Ochoa, Thank you for the privilege of having you as a partner in this amazing adventure and for keeping up with all the details that come with building a dream home to our clients. You are the best business partner! To your wife, Jessica Ochoa and little girl, Lyanna Ochoa, Thanks for believing in this dream of ours!!!

Starting a new business is always challenging, just like starting a new project is always challenging. But we have honestly seen that with every challenge, there’s opportunity, opportunity to grow, learn, and be better.

Our business focuses on bringing people’s dreams a reality. We do everything in-house, except engineering, which gives us an advantage when it comes to having a personalized experience with our clients. They know they will be dealing with the owners of the company and not some random project managers or managers. We give them the peace of mind of knowing their project will be handled with the most care as possible. We really do build homes like it was our own, so we are on the project’s site all the time, that’s something not a lot of companies offer nowadays.
