Exploring Life & Business with Chastity Sonier of RBC Consulting Firm (The Hybrid Woman)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chastity Sonier.

Hi Chastity, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my Corporate journey in 2004 and my entrepreneur journey in 2010. With my 18 years of experience in Corporate America, I have risen to every challenge that has come my way. My long life journey is to empower individuals within an organizational structure and receive key RESULTS. In the midst of my tenure, I have been able to learn as well as incorporate the ability to implement happiness, success, and mindfulness throughout my Corporate and entrepreneur career. As a leader, my goal is to train, provide, and cultivate leaders to enhance their employees’ mindset through innovation, trust, and emotional intelligence.

As of today, I love bringing out the BOSS that is within a person as well as embracing and igniting a fire that helps them to excel in their area of expertise. I love to see people smile and penetrate positive energy in their environments. As a leader, I continue to see myself evolving and growing in leadership.

The definition of LEADERSHIP is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to influence and guide followers or other members of an organization.

If you are in leadership, you are consistently trying to progressively move forward. You are setting and raising the bar every day. You are pursuing excellence. You are triaging new ideas and new opportunities. You are evaluating your team’s strengths and weaknesses. You are the one that will listen and acknowledge the problem, but your end goal is to bring forth a solution. You do not get involved in the minutiae because you are that GLADIATOR rocking the Fedora Hat. You are the motivator as well as the encourager.

As a leader, you are making sure your team is aligned, has the resources, and they are successful in their role and task. You move based on actions and not words and emotions. On top of you being a leader to others, you are also internally leading yourself. You are being your own cheerleader and encourager as well as seeking all of the above for your daily life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Well, life is not guaranteed to be a smooth ride, so the honest answer is “no”. The major struggle was the law of attraction. Changing my mindset and affirming the type of life as well as a legacy that I wanted to leave my daughter and other individuals that are attached to my life. The reality was that I had to realize that I could not please nor change other opinions or perceptions of who I was. Once I realized that I truly did not need another person’s approval or validation, then I was able to live and walk in my freedom.

This has been a seven-year journey for me to find and embrace my inner peace. Once I had experienced my ability in peace and freedom from things and individuals, then I was able to be true to my own heart and desires and it did not matter what space or mood another person was in, because I eliminated anything and any individual that contributed to negative energy. It was okay to cut my circle down even to the point that it was just me in the circle because I valued my peace and I saw how happy I was when I removed certain individuals from my life.

Now, my road is a very smooth road, because I choose positivity and happiness every day. I choose to engage with individuals that exert positive energy and thinking on a daily basis. My law of attraction ONLY attracts what I intentionally choose to release in the world, which is positivity, so that is the only thing that can approach me in my life at this time, because I will not accept anything less. If you are a negative individual, then you will be removed, because where I am being elevated to in my life, there is no room and no exception for negativity…only positivity and light.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a native Houstonian who loves living life to the fullest. I am The Hybrid Woman. I am a Leadership, Growth, and Development Expert. In addition, I am an Entrepreneur, an Author, a Certified Master Life Coach that specializes in Happiness, Success, and Mindfulness, Empowerment Speaker, & Leadership Trainer. I appreciate the air that God gives me each day I open my eyes. If there are three adjectives that describe me, they would be loyal, tenacious, and God-fearing. I love bringing out the BOSS that is within a person as well as embracing and igniting a fire that helps them to excel in their area of expertise. I love to see people smile and penetrate positive energy in their environments. I love to travel and explore all that life has to offer.

Based on my two decades of experience, Corporate America falls short in vetting true talents and skill sets within their organizational structure. Resumes do not paint the entire picture of a person’s work ethic, character, integrity, time management skills, organizational skills, and most importantly, communication skills such as interpersonal interaction (verbal, non-verbal or the tone in an email).

I have witnessed individuals allow their assumptions to cloud their professional viewpoint of an individual or a situation. When you are a leader, you should first base your recommendations on facts. Strong and effective leaders know how to remove their assumptions and personal feelings, which allows them to make a sound and fair decisions on a matter. The truth is that these individuals that are making decisions on assumptions are truly struggling with who they see in the mirror every day. This is called insecurity. We all have them, but we all manage our insecurities differently. Companies lose talented and skilled individuals every day based on leaders’ insecurities. Companies must learn, invest, and execute leadership, growth, and development within their management structure in order to thrive and be successful in this new business culture.

The best quality that I am learning to possess is being an Alpha Woman. The backstory is that being an Alpha woman allowed me to lead, grow, and develop into the powerhouse that you see today. I learned that being an Alpha woman comes with success and failures. The most crucial factor in this journey is giving myself the permission to want more for myself and the vision to go after it. I realized that I am my only competition and that being strong does not mean others have to be weak. I embrace strengths, but my success story is learning from my failures. My failures have built my character and shaped my integrity. I am proud of the Alpha woman that I am which has created The Hybrid Woman.

As an Alpha Woman, you have to consistently know when and how to pivot regardless of whether it is personal or professional. A time that I had to pivot in my life was after I got married and had my daughter. I was slowly losing my Alpha personality. I started to not put myself first and justify why I could not. In 2020, I looked at my daughter and then looked at myself in the mirror and asked myself, “is this the Chastity that I want my daughter to follow?” The answer was no. So, I decided to act and eliminate all the negativity and distractions that were not bringing me joy and happiness. It was a lonely process at the time because I was getting used to people around me, but the old Chastity Bailey started encouraging and motivating herself and once she embraced that internal conversation in the mirror, there was no turning back. First, it was about me getting back to my old self, but when I started to seek God more and spend personal time with myself, then I realized that I was becoming a better version of me, and I did not want to even be the old Chastity. I was and am liking this Hybrid Woman that is breaking barriers and empowering women in their personal and professional lives.

I am a Managing Partner of RBC Consulting Firm dba Sapphire Services. Under the umbrella of RBC Consulting Firm, my brand is “The Hybrid Woman”, which is defined as a woman that cultivates her personal and professional lifestyles and a woman that wants to conquer LEADERSHIP, GROWTH, and DEVELOPMENT for herself. I am the Founder/President/CEO of Magnificent Foundation dba Seraphi In Action which is a non-profit organization for single and married mothers.

My goal is to focus my mind as well as my energy towards peaceful things. The best thing about me is that I love being a wife and mother. My family is my priority. Making sure my home is together is important and being able to be that fragrance that my family needs in order to embrace success or obstacles within our daily lives. Knowing that I am that glue that holds them together means everything to me as a woman.

My motto is that sometimes you have to be RAW with yourself in order to ignite your passion.

In addition, making sure I stay true to my heart’s desires by continuing to develop and empower my entrepreneurial skills. Self-love and family (among other things) are the elements that develop me into a lady, a woman and an individual. This is only a snapshot of me…from the song of the late B.B. King “to know you, is to love you, but to know me, is not that way you see.” A bio cannot paint the picture of the true essence of me, but once we emerge, then you will see.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
When looking for a mentor, you have to realize that you can have different individuals that can mentor you in your career journey and that is okay. I believe that having a few mentors is a healthy thing for a Corporate or Entrepreneurial woman, especially in this progressive world that we live in today. When you find your mentors, as a leader, you must have the ability to actively listen and be a follower in order to lead, grow, and develop. The goal is to learn and improve in your craft from the mentor that you selected. Now, this does not mean that you take on their persona, but you can pull from their strengths, which should be in the areas you might need improvements in regarding your personal or professional lifestyles.
