Conversations with Ulyssis Ramos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ulyssis Ramos.

Hi Ulyssis, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out playing in local bands around Houston in 2012. During those times; I found out about podcasting but really didn’t pay any mind to it until 2018 when I wasn’t playing music anymore. Around the summer of 2019; I decided to jump into podcasting but before I did; I wanted to do my research. I started Inside The Northside Podcast in October 2019. I originally wanted a podcast that talked about things going on in Houston but it eventually evolved into something better that I had planned. For the last 3 years; I have met so many great people thru podcasting and because of them, my dedication and hard work; the podcast has become what it is today and I’m very excited about what’s in store for me and the podcast.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth trip. I’ve hit a lot of potholes and bumps during these 3 years of podcasting, from dealing with difficult guests, drama, and having to put podcast on hold due to my equipment malfunctioning. It hasn’t been easy but somehow, I power through it and come out the other side better than before.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I believe what sets me apart from my podcast peers is my love and dedication to podcasting. I understand it’s a hobby for someone but for me, it’s a way to express myself artistically, to bring on others who love what they do and want to show the world their art whether it be music, directing, news reporting or podcasting. I’m very humble when it comes to being a podcaster. I don’t have an ego, I don’t like to brag and I don’t like to tear down others who are trying to make good content like I am.

The thing I’m most proud of is the connection I’ve made with so many different people around the country. From Los Angeles to New York to Canada, back down to Texas. I actually got to fly out to Los Angeles and record several podcast episodes with the friends I’ve made thru podcasting.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
For the people who’d want to collaborate or work with me, you can direct message me on my Instagram account. I love working with others and creating great content. If you’d like to support me and the podcast; you can go to my Linktree (www.Linktr.ee/ITNS) where I have my merch store, my PayPal, Cashapp and such. I don’t ask for a lot but whatever, whoever would like to donate whatever amount; I am grateful. It helps me with purchasing more merch and paying for needed equipment.
