Today we’d like to introduce you to Tayla Hart.
Hi Tayla, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started off face painting for family and friends for Halloween and always wanted to do something more with it. Then the opportunity came to work as an independent contractor for Fantastic Face Painting (facepaintingutah.com). I loved working with the wonderful artists there. Inspired by these artists, I grew even more passionate about face painting and decided to begin my own face painting career with Tayla’s Flawless Faces. I have been slowly building up my career ever since. It has been such a great experience to feel a part of the community as I share something I truly love with people. It’s such an honor getting to enjoy the company of each person who sits in my chair and to get to put a smile on their face!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle for my business has definitely been exposure. It can be difficult to be seen in a city this big! While I know my prices and the quality of my work are competitive, it is challenging to help businesses and individuals who want my services to find me! Financial and health struggles in my family have also made running my business challenging at times.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Facepainting is more than a job to me, it’s a passion. I continue to better my craft by learning from prominent artists through classes and conventions. I work hard to stay current in the techniques and tools of the face painting world so that I can offer the very best to my clients.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My friends and family have always supported me in my business and I couldn’t do what I do without them. My fellow face painting artists that I get to bump shoulders with have also inspired and taught me so much and helped me to be the painter I am today.
