Today we’d like to introduce you to Lara Attayi.
Hi Lara, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
There are a few main reasons we wanted to open a small, art-focused shop here in Houston. Firstly, we wanted to share our appreciation and love for handmade work and independent brands with our local community. We also wanted to collaborate with and support local, U.S.-based, and international artists by carrying their beautiful work at our brick-and-mortar store. One of our main goals is to show our customers and collectors the awesome things that are made right here in our own city and also beautiful handmade works from individual artists in other countries – to show just how small the handmade community is! We strongly believe in being able to experience an artist’s work in-person and also sharing their work online and on our social media platforms to reach a wider audience. Houston is a large city, and we felt that there was -and still is- room to grow the small shop community. There can never be enough creative spaces and outlets. We wanted to provide additional space for people to feel at home and inspired.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Alonso and I opened up All The Feels to bring ourselves and others joy. We try not to stress the small things – or big things – and just keep pushing ahead by putting one foot in front of the other. It is always challenging changing careers and taking a leap into the unknown, but we are grateful to be doing this together and to make the most out of every “struggle” by feeling stronger and smarter on the other side.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Alonso and I have backgrounds in business, art, and engineering. Between the both us, we feel like a well-rounded pair that has a lot to offer. No great journey is easy. We love a challenge, the unknown, the adventure. We want to live with no regrets. A small shop has always been a dream for us. Through all of the hardships of the pandemic, we found the opportunity to finally open a shop together. With our love for new creations and the warmth of preloved vintage goods, we knew the shop would be a special place for people to come and feel immediately welcomed.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
