Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Mills.
Jennifer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Our story starts many moons ago circa 2008. Both Mariam and I were at the peak of our banking careers when we met each other. We both had a passion for hair and makeup and once we realized how much more we had in common, an incredible friendship was forged.
We both did freelance jobs here and there but we never considered it a full-time gig. I was ready to take a leap of faith and launch our company but my business partner Mariam was terrified. She accepted the life of a banker and was scared of failing so she continued giving financial advice while I quit cold turkey and signed up for cosmetology school. Fast forward to several months later when I graduated top of my class and Mariam was still stuck in her rut. I was making our dream a reality. She was so inspired by it that she took the leap of faith to launch our company together. We have no regrets.
Literally just days after I said to her “Let’s do this!” we got called on set to our very first fashion show. We needed a name and Jennifer and Mariam Beauty was just not enough to represent us. We wanted magic, we wanted whimsical, we wanted a brand that represented the Queen’s running the world.
We decided to go back to the roots of our childhood fairy tales. Who was the epitome of beauty? Who ignited our imaginations of magic and whimsical? Who represented the first real queen of all the land? Snow White. And just like Snow White awakening after true love’s first kiss, The Fairest One awakened as our fairy tale brand.
The fashion show was a success and actually opened up many doors for us to help build our brand into our cities’ household hair and makeup team. But our hard work deserved more and our brand had so much more to give. So now this household hair and makeup team for the city of Houston and surrounding areas have launched a makeup line. We won’t stop there either. Our story still has so many more chapters!
Has it been a smooth road?
No one really writes you a book and says here is how to not fail. Most of the time you live and learn. We are human we make mistakes but its how we grow that matters. Its how to avoid the bad and get threw the inevitable. I think when we started to realize our team was growing but the quality of artists wasn’t up to our standards, Its been hard finding a solid loyal team but we are so very blessed now with our team today. You’re only as strong as your weakest link and I can say now we are so very strong.

We are a traveling beauty team. Specializing in event makeup and hair. You want to look amazing we are your team! We are known for our timely appointments and awesome customer service. We won’t wake you up at 5am to get you ready, unless you need to be ready by 6am. So our clients appreciate how fast we are but still give them a beautiful service.
What sets us apart from other is that when you leave your appointment you have gained a new friend. Your appointment is a time were we focus on you and the beautiful story that put you in our chair. Whether be engagement, birthday or even a fun concert. It’s rare we don’t have someone tell us how they look forward to just hanging out with us again because we made them so comfortable.
Our team will always put a smile on the clients face from conversation to how fabulous they’ll look. I can tell you these clients even after their special day have continued to be in our lives. Any company can provide a simple beauty service but it takes a special company to make a them feel like family.
