Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Lane.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Lucid Illusions with Donovan Hanson (drums) in 2017. We brought in Conner Graham on bass in 2019. The three of us aim to bring a raw rock sound, engaging performance, and a genuine love for what we do to the stage! Our band has played with acts such as Papa Roach, Seether, Bush, Warrant, Everclear, Sick Puppies, Saliva, and more. In 2021, we completed a project called 365 Days of Covers which consisted of recording a new cover song on video every day throughout the whole year. Most recently, we opened for Houston’s BuzzFest 2022 and were named Best Local Band of 2022 by the Houston Chronicle.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have been many bumps in the road, but we always tackle any issues that come our way head-on. We believe in what we do and do not intend to let anything stand in the way. We have locked keys inside of our van in another state, had financial struggles, and had plenty of other headaches along the way. With that being said, we always find a way to put our heads together to learn, grow, and make the most out of every situation.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The band is known for energetic and engaging performances. We like to have fun on stage and I really think it allows the audience to have more fun too. We believe that our music style and business practices are what set us aside from other bands. There’s not really a band that we are aiming to be besides Lucid Illusions and I would like to think that it shows in our music.
