Check Out 307 Departure’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to 307 Departure. Them and their team share their story with us below:

307 Departure started its crazy journey in 2019. Starting out as just a simple pop-punk band we wanted to bring back what was fun about rock and roll. The feeling of just going crazy while loud music blares is something that each member shares a fascination with, and we have continued to try and encapsulate that in every note that we play. The band is made up of three members; Kellen Moore (Guitar/Vox), Grayson Moore (Bass/Vox), and Joshua Russell (Drums/Vox). We have had the pleasure of playing in places we never would’ve deemed imaginable, and met people even more unbelievable than the venues themselves. With our newest E.P release “KnowWhereLand”, We hope to continue to provide people with fun, entertaining, and energetic music that will help capture the inner “Angsty Teen” in us all!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road worth traveling is a smooth ride! 307 has had its fair share of bumps and bruises. From lineup changes to delays on release dates, we are no strangers to having peaks and valleys. We always try to remember things are brighter at the end of the tunnel, and usually, the highs outweigh the lows!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are very proud of every project that has come out to the public, and the majority have come right out of our home studio! We record everything in-house here at 307 HQ, and we love to expand our horizons when it comes to finding new sounds and mixing options! We have had the immense pleasure of working with and learning from some amazing producers over this short time we have been around, including our now good friend, Danny Saber!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Community outweighs the competition. The stereotype that bands should see their scene as a competition and treat other bands with hostility is honestly just ridiculous. Houston is a cesspool of amazing bands, but within those bands are genuinely great people who to us are as close as family. Nobody ever hesitates to lend a hand because we all want each other to succeed. We all love working with each other and sharing that drive we all have for music.
