Today we’d like to introduce you to Tae Phillips.
Hi Tae, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Tae Phillips and I am a Native of Houston, TX. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor in Science and I am currently pursuing my MBA. I currently work in Corporate America, and I am a Tax Professional & Notary Public at LaLanya’s Colbert Ball Tax Service.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road for me. Starting back in college there were troubles I faced such as financial concerns as many other college students. I was also the first to graduate college in my immediate family so I put a lot of pressure on myself to be great. I also work in a stressful career field; however, I do my best to take care of myself & my mental health. I still stay positive, which has helped me tremendously along the way & I have a great support system.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I assist individuals who are in need of assistance, support, referrals, and other services that can help them through their daily lives. I’m most proud of me being in my career field for 9 years and being in a leadership role at such a young age. I’m also very proud to be a tax specialist & notary public to help serve the public in a different capacity. I’m a very hard worker and I don’t quit until I accomplish my goals is what sets me apart from others. I’m very determined and if I have something in my mind & heart, I’m going to go get it.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how beautiful the city is and that there is so much to do. I dislike the traffic and the population. In recent years, there have been a lot of people that have moved to Houston. People love our city just like we do so they are now moving here to make it their home as well.
