Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Dreyer.
Hi Ashley , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was a High School English teacher and coach for 10 years. During my career, on the side, I started planning and executing events in London, Australia, and LA, and immediately fell in love. I was approached about creating and building a bodybuilding show, and since I had been a competitor before, I accepted the challenge. I have successfully produced, coordinated, and executed 7 Bodybuilding shows in the last 5 years. I stepped away from teaching to plan events full-time. In 2023, I already have booked 5 bodybuilding shows, 1 wedding, and several family events. Along with planning events, I also have a clothing company, and an E-commerce fulfillment center where my husband ships for E-commerce brands.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. The hardest struggle is taking that leap, putting all of your money towards a company, and hoping that it is successful. Also, there is no turning off. I have not had a day off in over 3 years!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in leadership and management. I have been a leader since I was 18. Being a leader has been instilled in me by my father, and I also have a Master’s degree in Leadership. Leading a team of people has always been my passion. I am most proud of educating people around me, and lifting people up, and making them better at their jobs and in life. The ability to bring people up with me, is what sets me apart from others. I do not believe that I can be good alone. I need other people and their strengths to make whatever I am doing even better.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Making mistakes is not a problem. Admitting you were wrong, adjusting and correcting the mistake will make people respect you even more, and then you will not make that mistake ever again!
