Hi Krystal, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got the idea to become a public notary when I worked towards my other businesses. I needed a notary several times for different applications such as trademarking. While I was getting a document notarized, out of curiosity, I asked the notary how many people have come in today for notary services. I also had an issue where I had scheduled an appointment at a UPS to get a document notarized and the notary was not even there at my scheduled appointment time. I had to call several other locations to see if a notary was available. The demand for notaries and the inconvenience it takes to locate one sparked my interest. From there I decided to become a loan signing agent and become authorized to do notarizations online! The business and opportunity are there and I cannot wait to start growing!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
So far, there have not been many challenges. I think the toughest part is learning how to become a remote online notary and what you need for remote online notarizations. There are specific steps involved once you become a public notary. It is not as simple as completing & submitting an application. I also had to study & take a test to become a certified loan signing agent! If you are not a great test taker, that could be a challenge for you.
